Hi there, here’s a few pics of our bus for your gas guzzlers page, she’s a 1965 split imported from Austria some years ago, she was in a pretty bad way so had a full restoration about 7-8 years ago including a lot of suspension work to get her to sit nice and low! She’s still earning her keep as the fudge bus as seen in the first 2 pics!
Cheers
Paul & deb

Hi,

My husband Simon said to email over some pictures of Rockin Robin, so please find them attached!

Rockin Robin is a Commer campervan, a piece of British history. There are not many like him that have survived and so he gets lots of attention and waves for being so unique. It is fitted with a gas stove, electric pump sink with 10L water container, 12v and 240v fridge with mains hook up cable.  Great for camping whatever the weather!

Speak soon

Hannah 🙂

Hello,

When I had my haircut, I mentioned that I do fly a gas guzzler from

Felthorpe ailrfield which is near Norwich

.

I have attached a picture of our Tigermoth DH82A built in

1937.

It has a Gipsy Major series I, 4 cylinder, air cooled engine.

Fuel consumption is to 8 gallons per hour at 2100 rpm. It uses AVGAS

(aviation gasoline), which is more expensive than unleaded car fuel.

Around  £1.85 per litre

Fantastic aircraft to fly, but it guzzles.

You see me in it just about to take off to fly over North Norfolk

Kind regards

Peter Brueggemann

Spec as follows.

1962 Amphicar 770, registered in ‘67. Believed to be less than 20 rhd models left in existence of which there are about 6 in the UK – not all of them swimmable.

1147cc Triumph Herald Motor and the rest of the car is Bespoke to Amphicar.

Built in Berlin, Germany from 1962 to 1967 and cost $5m to design in the late 50’s. It cost more than an E Type Jaguar when it went on sale. Of the 5000 cars that the factory geared up to produce, only about 3000 were ever made – of which less than 100 were rhd, and nearly all went to America.

This car has been across the channel on several occasions and also across to the Isle of White a couple of times. They are quite good swimmers!

This is my 1950 Farmall Super A tractor. It was originally painted white and used as a demonstrator model. I restored her to her present condition and have taken her to a few car shows here in Florida. Love your website and if I’m ever over there I will make it a point to stop in.

The traditional barbers pole represents ‘Blood and Bandages’. It originates from the grizzly days when barbers not only cut hair and shaved stubbly chins but also performed tooth extraction, bloodletting and some surgery. A traditional barbers pole has a brass finial representing the bleeding bowl. The bowl would have been kept at the top of the pole when not in use. The washed but still blood stained bandages were hung on the pole to dry. The wind whipped them around the pole giving us the red and white candy stripes we know today.
